Did you know . . .

. . . that the world's record pumpkin pie serves 1,000? It is 42 inches wide by 39 feet, 1 inch long.  The recipe calls for 244 cans of pumpkin, over 200 lbs of pie dough and 16 gallons of milk. Quite a few spices too. This record was set at the 2002 Pumpkinfest in Vancouver Island Canada.

. . . and there's this record breaker still pending at the Guiness Records archive.

For the second year in a row the Vancouver Island Pumpkin Festival was the site of the making of the World's Largest Pumpkin Pie. Results shall be submitted to the people at the Guinness Book of World Records. The 2003 pie measured 40ft. long by 47ins. wide. We used 250 cans of E.D. Smith pumpkin pie filling, 200lbs. of pie dough.
